Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Material Handler in the E Recycling (Finance) area to support store and recycling operations. You will transfer merchandise, carts and trash to holding areas and appropriate departments, contributing to efficient store flow.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability and customer service, with duties including sorting donations, operating equipment, and assisting with pricing and display as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience considered.
• No professional certifications required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated goods and other materials into the proper material handling equipment.
• Safely and efficiently transport donated goods to the appropriate areas.
• Assist with pricing and displaying merchandise when required.
• Load trucks and trailers safely and efficiently when required.
• Follow proper waste disposal procedures using crushers, compactors and related equipment.
• Maintain general housekeeping of assigned areas.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Adhere to all recycling procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
