Job summary

Alsip MiniMill in Alsip, IL is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician. The role requires a strong background in heavy industrial maintenance, multi-craft skills, and safety-first mindset in a union environment.

Paper mill experience is preferred, and the facility operates on a 12-hr rotating Dupont schedule. The ideal candidate will handle electrical power systems, process instrumentation, and PLC-driven control systems while supporting ongoing maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years journeyman electrician experience in heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with high voltage up to 13.8 kV, MCC, VFD, PLC & DCS (Siemens & AB).
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices (arc flash, LO/TO, fall protection).
• Experience in understanding and supporting multi-craft maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and perform housekeeping; maintain personal and team safety as priority.
• Contribute multi-craft skills to complete work orders.
• Possess ability to work on Dupont 12 rotating schedule.
• Support mill goals of safety, quality, cost, and production.
• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs from prints and manuals.
• Install, inspect, and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems.
• Program PLCs and configure drives; troubleshoot using interfaces.
