Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks an E&I Superintendent to lead the electrical group on a Permian Basin project in Odessa, TX. You will direct activities, coordinate resources, and ensure adherence to specs while maintaining safety and quality on site.

With 5 years in heavy industrial electrical supervision, you will manage daily progress, mentor staff, and resolve scheduling issues across crafts. A Journeyman/Master Electrical License and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience supervising heavy industrial electrical projects.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical License required.
  • Oil & Gas and Power experience required; Renewable experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate electrical group activities at a construction site.
  • Provide management oversight for all phases of construction, ensuring specifications are followed.
  • Maintain site safety and quality control procedures; resolve scheduling conflicts between crafts.
  • Monitor daily work progress and coach subordinates; conduct performance reviews as needed.
  • Write reports and support policy and wage decisions in collaboration with Management.

Provides management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment and ensuring that specifications are being followed.**Responsibilities/Competencies*** Responsibilities include overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.* Requires the ability to look ahead to avoid conflicts in timing between crafts. Knowing the interactions of the tasks and how they affect each other is a skill required by the superintendent because of the conflicts that arise.* Must be able to deal effectively with employees and various levels of customer representatives in order to resolve scheduling problems, determine work priorities, and assess the relative magnitude of project requirements as they impact project scheduling.* Expected results from each subordinate are defined and monitored to ensure achievement relative to work output, quality of work, accidents (both to employees and to equipment) and training.* Spends a large portion of time monitoring daily work progress, and evaluating and counseling subordinates, requiring managerial / motivational skills.* Requires a general working knowledge of construction terminology and methodology without necessarily knowing the specific details of the work required from all crafts indirectly supervised. Relies upon General Foreman and/or Foreman responsible for specific craft disciplines. Writing reports and administering policies are very much a part of the daily workload.* Typical problem situations involve keeping current procedures, policies and methods in use each day.* Significant challenge involves responding to the time pressure exerted in an emergency situation.* Responsible for conducting performance appraisals and recommending wage adjustments.* Has the authority to discipline including termination when warranted. Discipline and terminations are discussed with Management prior to taking action.* Requires working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.**Requirements*** 5 years of experience supervising Heavy Industrial Electrical projects involving a variety of layout, installation, and construction and maintenance tasks* Must hold a current Journeyman or Master Electrical License* Oil & Gas and Power experience required* Renewable experience a plus* Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent* Possess valid drivers’ license with a good driving record**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.* Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.### About UsSaulsbury Industries provides engineering, general construction, electrical & instrumentation, and fabrication services to heavy industrial markets.
