Job summary

Saulsbury Industries at Permian Basin in Western Texas is seeking an experienced site lead to direct and coordinate the Electrical group on a major construction project. You will manage workers, materials, and equipment while ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, ability to forecast and resolve scheduling conflicts, write reports, conduct performance appraisals, and discipline when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience supervising Heavy Industrial Electrical projects.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical License required; Oil & Gas and Power experience preferred; Renewable experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Look ahead to avoid conflicts in timing between crafts.
  • Resolve scheduling problems and determine work priorities with employees and customer representatives.
  • Define and monitor expected results from subordinates to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Monitor daily work progress and provide guidance to personnel.
  • Maintain knowledge of construction terminology and methods; rely on foremen for specifics.
  • Write reports and administer policies as part of daily workload.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and discuss wage adjustments.
  • Authority to discipline, including termination; discuss with management before action.
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain current procedures.

Location: Permian Basin – Western Texas Type: Full time General Information/Job Summary Serves as the lead representative for the company at a construction site, directing and coordinating the activities of the Electrical group. Provides management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment and ensuring that specifications are being followed.

Responsibilities
  • Overall accountability for job site safety and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Look ahead to avoid conflicts in timing between crafts.
  • Deal effectively with employees and various levels of customer representatives in order to resolve scheduling problems, determine work priorities, and assess the relative magnitude of project requirements as they impact project scheduling.
  • Define and monitor expected results from each subordinate to ensure achievement relative to work output, quality of work, accidents (both to employees and to equipment) and training.
  • Spend a large portion of time monitoring daily work progress, evaluating and counseling subordinates, requiring managerial/motivational skills.
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of construction terminology and methodology without necessarily knowing the specific details of the work required from all crafts indirectly supervised; rely upon General Foreman and/or Foreman responsible for specific craft disciplines.
  • Write reports and administer policies as part of the daily workload.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and recommend wage adjustments.
  • Have authority to discipline, including termination when warranted; discuss discipline and terminations with Management prior to taking action.
  • Respond to time pressure exerted in an emergency situation and keep current procedures, policies and methods in use each day.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience supervising Heavy Industrial Electrical projects involving a variety of layout, installation, and construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Must hold a current Journeyman or Master Electrical License; Oil & Gas and Power experience required; Renewable experience a plus.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possess valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk the property and lay down yards.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
