Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United States seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Superintendent to lead the E&I function, improving plant productivity, reliability and efficiency through the design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems and machines at the mill.

You will supervise a team of technicians, overseeing safety, quality and maintenance, and coordinate with Engineering, Reliability and Operations to meet daily work, outages and capital

Qualifications

• Five plus years of experience as an electrical or mechanical craftsman.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technicians in troubleshooting E&I problems.
• Execute industrial electrical plant maintenance including preventative maintenance tasks and troubleshooting plant electrical equipment.
• Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times and drive a safety awareness culture as a top priority.
• Adhere to all mill safety rules, participate in and/or lead safety programs and meetings with the goal of improving safety at the mill and support the mill behavior-based safety program (MOSSIE).
• Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiencies of the mill are constantly improved through updated preventive techniques to reduce unscheduled downtime.
