Job summary

Kunin Technologies in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to define the electrical scope for the group's first-of-a-kind chlorination plant.

You will develop basis of design documents, load lists, single-line diagrams, and review vendor drawings, contributing to energization and commissioning milestones.

Collaborating with process engineers and the Capital Projects team, you will help deliver modular skid-based equipment on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and FEED experience on chemical or related capital projects.
• 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation engineering on capital projects including FEED.
• Experience designing power distribution and motor control for operating plants.
• Knowledge of hazardous-area design and functional safety (IEC 60079, IEC 61511).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN; ability to review 3D plant models.

Responsibilities

• Electrical basis of design: load list, single-line diagrams, hazardous-area classification, earthing, power quality.
• Instrument index, I/O list, control philosophy and safety instrumented system requirements with process engineers.
• Specification and factory acceptance of skid-mounted MCCs, VFDs, control panels and instruments.
• Review contractor drawings and installation against process intent and IEC/local codes.
• Energization, loop checks, interlock and safety-system testing during commissioning.
• Lead front-end studies for next plants and parallel delivery.
