Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years electrical/Instrumentation estimating experience.

• Experience with estimates over $25 million.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards and industrial practices.
• Advanced quantity takeoff and blueprint interpretation.
• Strong skills in electrical systems, controls, grounding, and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates for E&I construction projects.
• Review drawings, specs, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, bid documents, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for LV/HV systems and related components.
• Develop labor estimates using productivity factors.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare material, equipment, indirect cost, general conditions, and site logistics estimates.
• Identify project risks and develop contingency recommendations.
• Participate in value engineering, pre-bid meetings, and bid clarifications.
• Coordinate with operations, PM, engineering, procurement, vendors, and subs.
• Support change order pricing during project execution.
• Maintain historical estimating data per company/client requirements.

E&I Estimator – Data Center Construction

Location: Remote

Travel: Required to project sites as needed

Pay: $50-55.00 per hour

Estimate Electrical and Instrumentation Systems for Major Data Center Projects

We are hiring an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Estimator to support large-scale hyperscale data center and industrial construction projects.

What You Will Do

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid estimates for E&I construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, bid documents, and project requirements
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for medium- and low-voltage systems, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, bus duct, cable tray, conduit, underground electrical, grounding, lighting, instrumentation, fiber optics, structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and controls
• Develop labor estimates using productivity factors
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
• Prepare material, equipment, indirect cost, general conditions, supervision, and site logistics estimates
• Identify project risks and develop contingency recommendations
• Participate in value engineering, pre-bid meetings, client estimate reviews, bid clarifications, and negotiations
• Coordinate with operations, project management, engineering, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors
• Support change order pricing during project execution
• Maintain historical estimating data and ensure estimates follow company and client requirements

What You Bring

• At least 7 years of electrical and instrumentation estimating experience
• At least 3 years of experience estimating hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large industrial EPC projects
• Experience estimating electrical projects with values exceeding $25 million
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, IEEE standards, and industrial electrical construction practices
• Advanced quantity takeoff and blueprint interpretation skills
• Strong understanding of medium- and low-voltage systems, instrumentation, controls, grounding, power distribution, and electrical equipment
• Strong mathematical, analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Ability to walk active construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and work in outdoor industrial environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center or mission-critical construction experience
• Industrial EPC, oil and gas, power generation, semiconductor, or design-build estimating experience
• Field electrical construction experience
• Journeyman electrician background
• Experience with Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
• Experience estimating generators, UPS systems, battery systems, utility interconnections, PLC/DCS installations, fiber optics, structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and commissioning support

Work Location: Odessa, Texas, with travel to project sites as needed
