Job summary

GreenSpark Finance, a fast-growing AI-enabled accounting and CFO services firm, seeks a hands-on Client Accountant to manage monthly closes for diverse CPG and eCommerce clients using QuickBooks Online, BILL, Shopify, Amazon, and TikTok Shop.

You will own reconciliations, prepare financial statements, test new tools, and collaborate with clients and internal teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and at least three years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills, especially inventory, COGS, accruals, reconciliations and monthly close.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under tight deadlines and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with CPG, inventory-based businesses, eCommerce accounting and settlement/payout reconciliation knowledge.
• Strong Excel skills and hands-on knowledge of QuickBooks Online and BILL.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day and month-end accounting for an assigned portfolio of CPG and eCommerce clients with different channels, systems and close calendars.
• Complete monthly closes, including transaction classification, accruals, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile eCommerce revenue, payment processor and marketplace clearing accounts, tracing sales, fees, refunds and settlements to bank deposits.
• Reconcile Shopify, Shopify Payments, Amazon Seller Central and TikTok Shop payouts and settlement reports, breaking out gross sales, discounts, fees and net settlements.
• Account for inventory and cost of goods sold across warehouses, 3PLs, Amazon FBA and co-manufacturers with reconciliations and related schedules.
• Maintain inventory roll-forwards and gross margin analysis by channel and SKU, reconciling inventory systems to the general ledger.
• Manage AP/AR and other accounts; prepare accurate monthly financial statements and explain unusual balances.
• Support client financial reviews and audits with schedules and documentation.
• Maintain organized, well-supported workpapers and communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to keep closes on track.

Position Overview

GreenSpark Finance is a high-growth, entrepreneurial firm building a world-class, tech-enabled, AI-forward accounting and CFO services practice for growing CPG and eCommerce brands. Our clients sell across Shopify, Amazon, TikTok, wholesale, and other channels, giving our team the opportunity to solve complex accounting problems. The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, proactive Client Accountant who enjoys the details of accounting and takes pride in accurate, timely monthly closes. You will independently manage accounting for a variety of CPG and eCommerce clients using QuickBooks Online, BILL, Shopify, Amazon and TikTok Shop, own reconciliations and supporting schedules, and investigate issues through resolution. This is primarily a client accounting role, with opportunities to improve processes and test new tools, including AI, as part of our tech-enabled approach. You will thrive here if you take initiative, work well independently and stay accurate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Client Accounting

• Own day-to-day and month-end accounting for an assigned, varied portfolio of CPG and eCommerce clients with different sales channels, systems and close calendars, balancing competing deadlines and working independently.

• Complete monthly closes, including transaction classification, accruals, journal entries, detailed balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Reconcile eCommerce revenue, payment processor and marketplace clearing accounts, tracing sales, fees, refunds and settlements to bank deposits.

• Reconcile Shopify, Shopify Payments, Amazon Seller Central and TikTok Shop payouts and settlement reports, breaking out gross sales, discounts, returns, marketplace and fulfillment fees, advertising charges, reserves and chargebacks, and tying net settlements to bank deposits.

• Account for inventory and cost of goods sold across warehouses, 3PLs, Amazon FBA and co-manufacturers, including inventory reconciliations, landed cost, (adjustments and related schedules; investigate variances with client teams.)

• Maintain inventory roll-forwards and gross margin analysis by channel and SKU, reconciling inventory system and 3PL reports to the general ledger.

• Manage accounting for prepaids, fixed assets, debt, AP/AR and other accounts as applicable; prepare accurate monthly financial statements and explain unusual balances.

• Manage AP in BILL, including bill coding, approval routing, vendor payments and sync to QuickBooks Online.

• Maintain clean QuickBooks Online files across clients, including chart of accounts setup, bank rules, class/location tracking by channel, and integrations.

• Support client financial reviews and audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation and responding to follow-up questions.

• Maintain organized, well-supported workpapers and communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to keep closes on track.

Process Improvement and Technology

• Identify practical opportunities to make recurring accounting work more accurate and efficient through better templates, documentation and workflows.

• Use accounting systems, AI and emerging tools thoughtfully; verify results against source records and flag errors or exceptions.

• Bring an AI-forward mindset: actively use AI tools to speed up reconciliations, data clean-up, variance analysis and documentation, while validating every output.

• Partner with the team to test and provide feedback on new accounting processes and automation as opportunities arise.

• Help define practical requirements, test cases and controls before a workflow is used in client delivery.

• Create or improve templates, instructions and repeatable processes; help teammates adopt workflows that prove accurate and useful.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and at least three years of hands-on accounting experience, including direct ownership of monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Strong technical accounting skills, especially inventory, cost of goods sold, accruals, reconciliations and the monthly close.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, even under tight deadlines, and the ability to investigate discrepancies, find root causes and resolve issues without extensive oversight.

• Experience with CPG, inventory-based businesses, eCommerce accounting, Shopify, Amazon and TikTok Shop settlement and payout reconciliation knowledge is strongly preferred.

• Strong Excel skills (including lookups, pivot tables and working with large datasets) and thorough, hands-on knowledge of QuickBooks Online and BILL.

• Proven ability to manage accounting for a variety of clients or entities with different channels, systems and needs, prioritize recurring deadlines and communicate clearly and proactively.

• Someone who genuinely enjoys hands-on accounting work, takes ownership of recurring responsibilities and is comfortable learning new tools while validating their outputs.

• A proactive self-starter who works independently, anticipates issues before they become problems and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.

• AI-forward: curious about and comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day accounting work, with the judgment to validate their results.

• Experience with revenue recognition, marketplace clearing accounts, inventory systems, inventory roll-forwards or COGS analysis.

• Experience reviewing others’ work, improving accounting processes or helping test new accounting tools, including AI-assisted workflows.

Location and Benefits

Remote work is welcome, with a preference for candidates currently located in Eastern Time Zone or Texas. This role offers a targeted annual salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 and benefits package.
