Job description

Role Summary

We are looking for a hybrid strategist and operator to serve as our E-Commerce Marketplace Manager, with a focus on our Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) wholesale partnership. This role bridges the gap between complex supply chain management and front-end creative marketing.

You will not only be responsible for managing high-volume POs, disputing chargebacks, and navigating annual vendor negotiations (AVN), but you will also take hands‑on ownership of our brand’s digital presence. This means actively launching new products, continuously optimizing product detail pages (PDPs), creating high-converting infographics, and turning raw analytics into actionable growth strategies. If you know how to keep Amazon’s algorithms ordering and our customers converting, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Launches & Continuous Optimization
    • Go-to-Market Execution: Spearhead the launch of new products on Vendor Central, ensuring New Item Setup (NIS) is flawless and catalog mapping is accurate.
    • Listing Optimization: Continuously audit and optimize product titles, bullets, and backend search terms to improve organic ranking, search visibility, and overall conversion rates.
    • Visual Merchandising: Design and create compelling infographics, lifestyle imagery, and A+ Content that communicate product value propositions and drive sales. Ensure Amazon Brand Stores are up‑to‑date and optimized.
  • Data Analytics & Actionable Insights
    • Performance Monitoring: Utilize Amazon Brand Analytics (ABA) to monitor glance views, conversion rates, and market share.
    • Improvement Actions: Translate data into actionable strategies—whether that means tweaking an infographic to reduce bounce rates, adjusting pricing strategies, or diagnosing a “Lost Buy Box” issue.
  • 1P Relationship & PO Management
    • PO Management & Forecasting: Monitor and manage weekly Purchase Orders (POs) in coordination with operations to meet Amazon’s strict "on‑time and in‑full" requirements.
    • Annual Vendor Negotiations (AVN): Lead or support the negotiation of annual terms, including Co‑op agreements, MDF, Damage Allowances, and Freight terms.
    • Operational Compliance: Serve as the watchdog for chargebacks and Shortages. Dive into "Operational Performance" dashboards to identify and dispute root causes of financial leaks.
    • Profitability Management: Actively manage risks to ensure healthy margins.
  • Amazon Advertising (AMS)
    • Campaign Strategy: Strategize and execute Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display campaigns.
    • Demand Generation: Focus on driving targeted demand to increase sell‑through, ultimately triggering larger automated Amazon POs.
What You Bring to the Table
  • The 1P Specialist: 3+ years of experience managing high‑volume accounts specifically within Amazon Vendor Central. You understand the vital difference between "Shipped COGS" and "Ordered Product Sales."
  • The Creative Optimizer: Hands‑on experience creating visual assets (infographics, A+ content) using tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator. You know what imagery converts a browser into a buyer.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and a deep understanding of Amazon Brand Analytics.
  • The Negotiator: You aren't intimidated by Amazon’s "Net Terms" and understand how to protect brand margins while maintaining a "Healthy" vendor status.
  • Supply Chain Literacy: You understand EDI, lead times, and the logistical hurdles of shipping to Amazon fulfillment centers.
Success Metrics
  • Shipped COGS Growth: Year‑over‑year growth of wholesale sales to Amazon.
  • Conversion Rate (CVR) Improvement: Measurable increases in conversion metrics through continuous PDP optimization and updated visual assets.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintaining a low charge‑back to sales ratio and a high In‑Stock rate.
  • Advertising Efficiency: Maintaining a healthy ROAS/ACOS on marketing spend while effectively supporting new product launches.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience with other major marketplaces (Walmart, eBay).
  • Experience with Direct Fulfillment (Drop‑ship) programs.
  • Background in traditional retail buying or category management.
  • Familiarity with 3P‑to‑1P transitions (Hybrid models).
