Job summary

Rivian in Normal, IL, seeks an E-coat technician to keep the E-coat line moving, ensure tank chemistry stays within internal standards, and troubleshoot line issues promptly. You will perform preventive maintenance, take titrations and readings with pH, conductivity, and thickness meters, and document data in SPC charts while communicating findings to the E-coat Leader and quality team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in a lab environment; titration experience preferred.
• Able to read and understand work instructions.
• Ability to train others as needed.
• Understands FIFO principles of stock rotation and shelf life.
• Able to work with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to meet Rivian goals.
• Capable of standing 8+ hours and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the E-coat system to ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Environmental Management System, and safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform titrations and other measurements; use pH, conductivity, and thickness meters.
• Document and plot readings in SPC charts; evaluate control charts and adjust as needed.
• Communicate line conditions and issues to the E-coat Leader and quality personnel.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and chemical problems; manage wastewater operation of the E-coat system.
• Maintain updated written and electronic records; conduct routine line inspections.
• Prepare chemical containers for shipment; change filters; remove products from the line as required.
• Operate lift trucks as needed.
