Qualifications

• Advanced degree and 10 years of experience in education or a related area.
• Three years of general experience at the full advanced working level overseeing an educational bureau, system, operation, school or service.
• Substitutions may include certificates or degrees in educational leadership for additional experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs Education programs and staff activities and manages related functions.
• Develops long- and short-term goals and objectives that support educational initiatives.
• Reviews and formulates policy, program priorities, funding, legislation and regulation.
• Oversees recruitment and hiring of staff and manages bureau operations.
• Responds to inquiries from the public, Governor’s office, and educators.
