Job summary

The Irving Independent School District seeks a Dyslexia Specialist to support the district's dyslexia program by coaching interventionists, developing and sustaining the instructional program and services, and ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal mandates across campuses.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and valid Texas Teaching Certificate; Certified Academic Language Therapist or Licensed Dyslexia Therapist is preferred, along with Special Education Certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
• Certified Academic Language Therapist or Licensed Dyslexia Therapist preferred.
• Special Education Certification required.
• Three years of classroom experience and three years as a dyslexia interventionist.

Responsibilities

• Serve as instructional coach and mentor to dyslexia interventionists and specialists.
• Observe instruction and review compliance records; provide feedback.
• Lead development and implementation of district dyslexia curriculum.
• Assist with district dyslexia leadership team and department meetings.
• Support selection of instructional materials and remediation techniques.
• Develop professional development for staff within the district.
• Attend regional PD and leadership meetings to stay current on mandates.
• Collaborate with campus administration to address concerns and ensure compliance.
