Job summary

The Bilingual Dyslexia Assessor at SISD is responsible for assessing intelligence, educational functioning, and sociological factors for students with disabilities. You will manage 504/IEP processes, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with state and district timelines.

Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, with a bilingual background and Texas teaching credentials. This role requires collaboration across teams and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Required: Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Required: Valid Texas teaching certificate.
• Required: Trained in Corrective Reading program for Dyslexia.
• Required: Bilingual.
• Preferred: Three years experience as a successful classroom teacher.
• Preferred: Educational Diagnostician certification or LSSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and manages the section 504 process.
• Verifies the eligibility of dyslexia students.
• Coordinate and complete IEP.
• Provide copy of the student’s plan to parent and campus folder and state folders in a timely fashion.
• Collaborate with IDEA evaluation staff in the development of the Individual Educational Plans & 504 plans.
