Job summary

UTAC in Michigan seeks a Test Engineer to operate and support dynamometer test cells for propulsion and driveline systems, from setup to report completion. You will work with control software to integrate customer requests and perform crucial calibrations and troubleshooting.

The role requires initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage tasks across multiple areas. Strong English, problem solving, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical).
• Practical project experience.
• Working knowledge of automotive propulsion and driveline systems.
• Fluency in English required.
• Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Integrating customer test requests into our in-house dynamometer control software.
• Translating documents and conversations for tests.
• Troubleshooting testing systems and customer product issues.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver test results.
• Setting up small-scale testing equipment including sensors and instrumentation.
• Electrical wiring of sensors to data acquisition and drive systems.
• Calibrating test equipment such as torque meters and flow meters.
• Writing test reports for customers based on results.
• Support UTAC culture and values and perform other duties as assigned.
