Key Contributor to Enterprise-Wide Observability Transformation

About the Role:

We're seeking a Dynatrace Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of a Unified Enterprise Observability platform across Amtrak's digital technologies, assets, and operations. This individual will be pivotal in migrating from legacy systems to Dynatrace, automating observability with Terraform, and aligning telemetry with CI/CD, security, and incident management strategies.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and implement a state-of-the-art observability framework covering:
• Application performance
• Application security
• Threat detection
• Digital experience
• Business analytics
• Disaster recovery (DR)
• Use Terraform for Dynatrace Configuration as Code (dashboards, alerts, integrations).
• Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines to support observability tool deployment and app migrations from AppDynamics / ELK / Kibana to Dynatrace.
• Lead OpenTelemetry integrations and establish consistent data ingestion patterns.
• Integrate Dynatrace with network/security monitoring tools, notification systems, and ServiceNow workflows.
• Ensure observability standards support Agile, DevSecOps, and ITIL-driven operations.
  
  

Must-Have Experience:

• 5+ years implementing Dynatrace in large-scale, enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to leverage advanced Dynatrace features (e.g., Smartscape, PurePath, Davis AI).
• Hands-on expertise in Python scripting for automation and observability data manipulation.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps processes, and Terraform for infrastructure/configuration as code.
• Experience with legacy observability platforms like AppDynamics, ELK stack, and Datadog is a plus.
• Solid grasp of SAFe Agile, Kanban, and ITIL Frameworks (Change/Incident/DR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex designs to leadership and stakeholders.
