Element U.S. Space & Defense is seeking a part-time Testing Technician in Camden, AR. You will read specifications, prepare test equipment, and perform tests in a dynamic lab environment.

The role requires 2–6 years of experience with electrical, mechanical and dynamics principles, plus basic MS Office skills. You will document results, communicate with customers as needed, and help maintain lab equipment.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED; AA/AS degree preferred.
  • 2–6 years of related testing experience.
  • Ability to read specs and perform testing under supervision.
  • Proficient in basic MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Set up tests by reading specs and preparing equipment.
  • Perform testing and document data; interact with customers as needed.
  • Process data after tests and send to Program Manager.
  • Maintain lab; calibrate instruments and organize supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $25.00 To $25.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the Dynamics department. Dynamics: The branch of mechanics that deals with motion of systems under action of forces usually from outside the system.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
  • Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
  • Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
  • Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
  • Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
  • Other - Perform other duties as assigned
CORE REQUIREMENTS
  • Under general supervision; completes intermediate technical and mechanical procedures, regularly interacts with clients, troubleshoots and reworks standard tests. Intermediate interpretation and analysis of test results
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical & Dynamics principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices; basic understanding of AC/DC circuits
  • Able to use all standard Dynamics equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; basic MS Office skills
  • Basic MS Office skills
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS degree preferred.
  • 2-6 Years of experience
WORKING CONDITIONS

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
