Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is hiring for a yard switcher/package handler in our Ohio yard. You will move trailers, assist with loading and unloading packages, and ensure safe, efficient yard operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating trailer movements, documenting actions, and performing pre/post-trip inspections. Prior switcher or CDL experience is preferred; a valid driver's license and DOT file are required.

Qualifications

• No education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to sort packages by reading labels and numbers.
• Able to use basic tools and equipment listed in the job description.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors and yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/Central control.
• Document trailer moves in Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Load and unload packages from delivery vehicles, trailers, or conveyors.
• Sort packages by reading labels and charts and using scanning tools.
