Hennessy & Roach, P.C. seeks an attorney to defend Workers' Compensation cases in Illinois and Missouri to join our St. Louis, MO office. Essential duties include gathering medical evidence, taking depositions, conducting discovery, drafting pleadings, and litigating before a workers' compensation judge.

Your practice will align with defense work for employers and insurers, requiring strong legal research, organization, and the ability to manage deadlines in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. is required and Missouri or Illinois bar license.
• Thorough knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Strong legal research techniques and terminology.
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, research and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather medical evidence and medical records.
• Take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts and other parties.
• Conduct discovery.
• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs and other legal documents.
• Litigate before a workers' compensation judge or referee.
• Represent employer or insurer at hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations.
• Communicate with claims representatives.
• Coordinate and attend claims reviews.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of the insurer.
