Job summary

Evans & Dixon in Kansas City is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney with 3–5+ years of experience to join our litigation-focused team. You will work with seasoned attorneys on workers' compensation matters, perform legal research, and handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances.

Candidates must be licensed in Kansas and Missouri, hold an ABA-accredited law degree, and demonstrate strong analytical, written and oral communication skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in a law firm
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation laws
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and track volume caseload with multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Be able to work efficiently with corporate professionals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Collaboration with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants as a team
• Legal research on workers' compensation and related developments
• Direct client interaction on a daily basis
• Handling depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants & judges, and court appearances
• Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents
