Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE license in Social Studies (History/Social Studies 5-12) with SEI Endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of middle school teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with virtual platforms (Schoology, eSped, PowerSchool, Google Suite, etc.).
• Ability to operate a computer for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver GCVS curriculum through virtual instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Teach social studies at the middle school level under the direction of the Principal.
• Lead students through successful course completion.
• Foster a virtual environment conducive to learning.
• Proactively engage students who may face barriers to participation in a remote setting.
• Collaborate with appropriate GCVS staff to support student growth and achievement.
• Participate in the Massachusetts Educator Evaluation Framework and engage in ongoing professional development.
