Job summary

Steve & Kate's Camp in Potomac, MD is seeking a Summer Camp Substitute Counselor for the 6/15/2026–8/7/2026 period. Hours are 8:00 am–6:00 pm with shifts varying. Compensation ranges from $19.00 to $21.50 per hour, based on experience and other factors.

The role focuses on supervising campers aged 4–12, enabling independent choice, and helping campers build self-confidence through creative activities and play. Must be 18+, with First Aid/CPR certification prior to Day 1.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 months experience working with camp-age children; 1 year preferred.
• First Aid & CPR certified prior to Day 1 of Camp.
• Chaperoning on off-site Field Trips may be required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities, make connections, monitor safety and wellness.
• Oversee activity spaces or assist in rotating support roles.
• Collaborate with local director to run camp activities like sewing, stop-motion, maker space, performing arts, crafts.
