Qualifications

• 36 semester hours at an accredited institution or DESE approved 20 hour training program.
• Valid Missouri Substitute Teaching certificate required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general materials and procedures.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts used in classroom tasks.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
• Assumes all other responsibilities for that teacher during the absence.
• Prepares lesson plans with assistance when plans are not available in the classroom.
• Maintains records including grades, assignments, and related clerical work.
• Provides assistance for students needing extra help and offers small group support.
