Job summary

Washoe County School District in Reno, NV seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction and classroom management in the absence of the regular teacher. The role includes following lesson plans, maintaining routines, and reporting progress to the regular teacher.

Qualifications

• Education: 60+ credit hours from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Experience working with students is desired.
• Licenses/ certifications: Substitute Teaching License or Teaching License issued by Nevada Dept. of Education.

Responsibilities

• Follow the regular lesson plans and instructions of the absent teacher.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the assigned school and classroom; prepares and submits a summary of their work; informs the regular teacher of situations or problems.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality regarding students; monitor behavior and report issues to the Principal; protect students and property.
• Attend staff meetings and perform duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent; follow School Board policies.
