Job summary

Poteet ISD is seeking Special Education Inclusion and Resource Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. The roles involve delivering tailored learning activities, developing curricula, and working within self-contained, team, or itinerant capacities to support student growth.

Responsibilities include collaborating with ARD committees to develop IEPs, implementing instructional programs, and adapting content for diverse learners while coordinating with regular teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Meet High Qualified or demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area(s).
• ESL Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and ARD Committee to develop IEPs for each student.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs and document preparation.
• Plan and use varied instructional strategies tailored to student learning styles.
• Modify curricula and assist in regular classes as needed.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
• Present subject matter as per IEP guidelines.
• Use technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff.
• Comply with regulations and file required reports.
• Follow safety procedures and manage student behavior as needed.
