Responsibilities

Plans curriculum and prepares lesson plans and other instructional materials according to skill levels and educational needs of students and program expectations.
Evaluates and assesses student needs and progress using approved instruments and maintains grades.
Delivers instruction per IEP requirements and uses appropriate teaching strategies.
Collaborates with IEP team members to develop individual educational programs.
Completes IEP reports and monitors goals pertaining to student performance.
Maintains safe and secure classroom environment and coordinates aides.
Intervenes to ensure safety and manage behaviors as needed.
Communicates with parents regarding student progress and completes quarterly progress reports.
