Job summary

South Coast Educational Collaborative seeks a Special Education Teacher for Seekonk North Middle School 6-8. The 12-month position requires implementing Massachusetts curricula aligned with IEP goals, planning and assessment, and collaborating with related service providers to support student learning.

The role emphasizes inclusive practices, equitable access, and ongoing professional growth; candidates must have MA licensure in Special Education and ability to work with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Massachusetts Department of Education Licensure in Special Education (Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8 or 5-12 or Severe Disabilities).
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to the needs of a changing student population.
• Ability to lift 39 pounds independently.
• SEI Endorsement.
• Experience with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS.
• Experience in classroom management and implementing therapeutic, behavioral systems.
• Ability to use technology to enhance instructional and professional responsibilities.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in student-centered team meetings to develop individualized programming for students.
• Collaborate with related service providers to plan, prepare, and implement all aspects of each student’s educational goals according to their IEPs.
• Effectively plans instruction and assessment for students; adjusts instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
• Write reports, develop IEPs, maintain transition data collection, and demonstrate student progress.
