Qualifications

• Current special education (165) Connecticut teaching certificate required.
• IEP data collection knowledge.
• Experience with behavior management and CPI/PMT training desirable.
• Spanish language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follows the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined by the school.
• Manages the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain an advantageous learning environment.
• Prepares lesson plans with clear objectives and uses appropriate techniques for all learners.
• Maintains records and conducts parent/teacher conferences.
• Assesses student learning on an ongoing basis and identifies interventions.
• Designs instruction to meet diverse needs in whole and small groups.
• Monitors progress and participates in IEP review and revisions.
