Job summary

AltaPointe Health Systems is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with students in Alabama. You will provide individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, collaborate with treatment teams and school staff, and coordinate eligibility evaluations and IEP meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education is required.
• Alabama teacher’s certification in Special Education (K-6, 6-12) required.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students individually in accordance with identified needs.
• Consults with treatment team to ensure consistent behavior management across programs.
• Works with school administration, teachers, and paraprofessionals.
• Schedules eligibility/initial evaluations and IEP meetings as needed.
• Provides services and supports with general education staff.
• Maintains special education records and PowerSchool reports.
• Prepares daily/weekly lesson plans for staff use in the teacher’s absence.
• Deescalates crises per AltaPointe policy and procedure as required.
• Performs liaison services with local educational system for students at BayPointe.
• Maintains professional relationships with staff and external contacts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; Alabama teacher’s certification in Special Education (K-6, 6-12)
