Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a Teacher, Special Education - DCD (2026-2027) for Andersen Middle. This temporary long-call substitute role focuses on delivering aligned instruction and participating in a STEM-influenced campus approach.

You will collaborate with colleagues to adapt lessons, assess students, and communicate progress while supporting district goals and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural setting.
• Ongoing professional development through course work or job-embedded staff development.
• Master's or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction aligned to state and national standards.
• Use diagnostic, formative and summative assessments to inform instruction.
• Engage students with rigorous inquiry-based tasks and develop scholarly habits.
• Collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices.
• Assess developmental, cognitive and social needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Communicate with families regularly to support learning.
• Support district improvement goals and participate in PDP activities.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Prior successful student teaching or urban teaching experience

Master's or PhD preferred
