Propio Language Services is seeking Spanish onsite contract interpreters for the Washington DC area. This opportunity is offered as independent contractor services with no guaranteed hours, and you may be assigned to healthcare, education, government, or other settings.

Applicants should be 18+, fluent in English and Spanish, and able to travel to onsite assignments. Background checks and health/immunization requirements may apply, with confidentiality and ethics at the core of every assignment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation.
• Background checks and security screenings may be required.
• Submit a current résumé in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Travel to onsite assignments.
• Health and immunization requirements may apply.
• One or more years of interpreting experience.
• Relevant interpreter credentials or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and security standards.
• Adhere to HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and client requirements.
• Interact professionally with clients and participants.
• Maintain up-to-date terminology and subject knowledge.
