Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill curriculum requirements.
• Plan lessons accommodating different learning styles.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use varied instructional strategies and materials to address student needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Plan with staff to set instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Incorporate technology to strengthen learning.
• Assist students in improving study habits and methods.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff.
• Uphold professional relationships with colleagues and community.
• Engage in staff development to improve skills.
• Comply with district and school regulations.
• Prepare and maintain required reports and records.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees.
