Job summary

Mercer Island School District is seeking a paraeducator for Islander M.S. and Mercer Island H.S. on Mercer Island, WA. The position is 6.5 hours per day with a limited duration through November 24th, starting ASAP. Benefits may apply under SEBB depending on hours and eligibility.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one: ParaPro Assessment, AA degree, 72 quarter credits or 48-semester credits, or registered apprentice program.
• 1-3 years of experience working with children or young adults.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in school or on field trips.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist staff.
• Operate standard office and AV equipment.
• Tutor students in small groups at staff request.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment and records.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ParaPro Assessment or AA degree/credits or apprenticeship
