Job summary

IT Resource Hunter is seeking a Substitute School Nurse (RN) in Wilmington, DE to provide direct nursing care, manage student health concerns, administer medications, and collaborate with families and school staff to help students stay healthy and succeed in class. Required: BSN and an active Delaware RN license meeting state school nurse requirements, with 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (3+ preferred).

Pediatric or school nursing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Active RN license meeting Delaware school nurse requirements.
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (3+ preferred).
• Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily nursing care for students and staff
• Assess and manage student health concerns
• Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate with parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health needs
• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
• Maintain confidential student health records
• Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations
• Provide nursing support during field trips and school-related activities when required
