Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, and run community programs at the David B. Waymer Recreation Center. The role focuses on youth and seniors, with mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends.

You will build partnerships with the community, supervise activities, and help with front desk operations, registrations, and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination required.
• Experience with recreation programs preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and evaluate recreation programs.
• Provide customer service and handle registrations.
• Ensure safety of participants and administer first aid.
• Enforce rules and collect fees.
• Assist in light maintenance of facilities and areas.
• May serve as manager on duty when needed.
