Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist, treating patients of all ages and serving as a clinical resource for staff.

The role offers a sign-on bonus and requires a PTA license (IDFPR) and BLS. You will educate patients and collaborate with the health care team to ensure quality care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license (IDFPR).
• BLS certification (AHA) within 30 days.
• Complete required continuing education for acute stroke care.
• Successfully complete board exam at the next available date.
• Continuing education for total joint replacement standards as required.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and adjusts treatment after communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation per CTSCP67 policy.
• Completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program as assigned.
• Implements intervention plans per PT plan using functional activities.
• Uses standardized outcomes measures to reflect functional performance.
• Completes documentation in line with regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with patient, family and others throughout rehabilitation.
• Communicates with the supervising Occupational Therapist about status and plan changes.
• Communicates discharge/disposition needs and equipment with the medical team.
