Job summary

You will apply anatomy and physiology knowledge, perform treatments including trigger point therapy, educate patients and families, monitor progress, and contribute to discharge planning to support safe, effective recoveries for diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or related field.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings preferred.
• Familiarity with geriatrics and pediatrics is advantageous.
• Certification or licensure as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with various conditions.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans under supervision.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and rehabilitation techniques.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care in settings such as home health, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities.
• Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving acute care or rehabilitation settings.
