Job summary

University Care Center in California is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist with resident-related care and treatments. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, safety, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

You will educate residents and families, participate in care conferences, and help with durable medical equipment orders to improve mobility and independence. California licensure and CPR may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
• Proficient in documenting in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Strong math skills for measurements and dosing calculations.
• Ability to interpret instructions from a supervising PT and senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation per facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate with the supervising PT and team about progress and discharge planning.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Assist in training Restorative Aides and other staff.
• Assist with ordering necessary durable medical equipment to promote independence.
