Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Communicate progress and discharge planning with physicians, nursing staff, the interdisciplinary team, residents, and families.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs.
• Assist in ordering durable medical equipment to facilitate independence.
• Report equipment problems to ensure good working order.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehabilitation program development.
