Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• At least three years of experience in the practice of law or as a claims attorney in the lawyer's professional liability field.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, confident, energetic, with ability to work independently and make reasoned decisions on complex matters.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and provide coverage across multiple jurisdictions.

Aufgaben

• Reviews, investigates, evaluates and determines if coverage exists for lawyer’s professional liability claims.
• Reviews facts and law to assess risk to insureds and company.
• Sets reserves based on objective risk assessments.
• Resolves claims in a timely and reasonable manner.
• Coordinates and monitors defense of insureds and coverage evaluations by outside counsel.
• Participates in mediation, arbitration, trial, or hearings as needed.
• Maintains and documents claim files accurately and promptly.
• Reports to reinsurers as required by reinsurance treaties.
• Serves as a resource for insureds and company staff on claims handling and policy interpretation.
• Contributes to risk management services.
