Job summary

Chief Leschi Schools is seeking a Preschool Certificated Teacher to work with preschool children enrolled in FACE, Puyallup Tribal Preschool or ECEAP. The role focuses on early literacy development, strong relationship building with families, and modeling effective teaching practices for parents.

This position is tied to the Certificated Salary Schedule and is exempt. The candidate will implement preschool curricula, maintain student records, and collaborate with the ECE team to support program

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR, and a Food Handler’s Permit.
• Experience with Native American communities preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional units, lessons and activities promoting academic achievement.
• Uses formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and promote learning.
• Implements prescribed preschool curriculums in the early childhood classroom.
• Plans and carries out early childhood education programs for participants.
• Maintains student files and prepares reports and documents.
• Collaborates with staff and administrators to support student achievement.
• Integrates Native American culture where appropriate.
• Plans weekly lessons and monthly parent meetings.
