Responsibilities

• Instruct and guide students to learn subject matter and develop growth in intellectual, aesthetic, social, physical, and emotional areas.
• Plan and organize an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary environment.
• Establish a positive rapport with students, parents, staff and community.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities as defined in contract.
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and growth and development of youth.
• Plan and organize effectively to maximize learning with minimum disciplinary action.
• Use varied and appropriate techniques to accomplish objectives and address individual differences.
• Encourage independent work habits and a flexible problem-solving approach.
• Provide instruction or intervention to students with special needs.
• Diagnose and assess abilities using CT Assessment Framework and refer when appropriate.
• Establish a positive learning environment.
• Assist in developing and managing the student’s IEP or individualized plan.
