Qualifications

• Equity-minded commitment to closing equity gaps in teaching and student success.
• Associate degree with six years of full-time equivalent experience; or Bachelor's with two years.
• Valid California Community College Credential or petition for equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of Police Academy courses as assigned.
• Apply effective communication skills.
• Provide feedback to students when necessary.
• Motivate, advise, and coach students.
• Enforce Academy Safety Guidelines.
• Ensure cadets are knowledgeable of POST Testing and Training Specifications for their module.
• Provide remedial instruction.
• Act as a role model and mentor for students.
• Act as a customer service representative for the Academy.
• Attend POST related workshops when required.
• Maintain the highest degree of ethical standards.
• Maintain awareness of current developments and research in the field of expertise.
• Demonstrate commitment to the profession (Code of Ethics).
• Develop relationships with POST; STC; AAUP ethical standards.
