Job summary

DHR Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Tech for a full-time day shift in Harlingen, TX. The technician provides outpatient therapy services under supervision, assists with tools and clerical tasks, and supports infection control and safety programs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and current BLS certification, plus strong communication and computer data-entry skills. Experience as a PT tech is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS/ CPR certification required.
• One year experience as Physical Therapy Tech preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to use computers for data entry.
• Ability to take direction from Therapists and Assistants.
• Understand proper patient identification methods.

Responsibilities

• Promote mission, vision and values in service delivery.
• Provide prescribed outpatient therapy treatments under staff supervision.
• Monitor vital signs and maintain knowledge of cardiovascular/ respiratory precautions.
• Communicate changes in condition to staff therapists and nurses.
• Assist with equipment, supplies, and documentation in the department.
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; address psychosocial needs.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and proper patient transport.
• Prepare and clean treatment area; support infection control and CQI activities.
• Assist front desk with patient appointment calls/reminders.
