Job summary

DHR Health in Mission, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (FT, Days) to support Ortho Sports Therapy. The PTA administers modalities under supervision, assists patients toward maximum function, and collaborates with therapists on care plans in a fast-paced rehab setting.

Requirements include a TX PTA license, completion from an accredited PTA program, and strong communication skills. Outpatient rehab experience is a plus; bilingual abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited physical therapy assistant school required.
• Current physical therapy assistant license in the State of Texas required.
• Organizational skills are necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with nursing, administration, and physicians.
• Outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values in service delivery.
• Provides treatment as directed by the staff physical therapist and adheres to standards of physical medicine practice.
• Observes and evaluates treatment effects and discusses findings with the staff physical therapist.
• Performs components of assessments for therapy requests and reassessments.
• Assists with teaching plans and patient/family education under supervision.
• Maintains equipment safety, department cleanliness and infection control.
