Job summary

Bedrock Healthcare seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the therapy program for patients/residents under the direction of licensed Physical Therapists. The PTA will implement the therapy plan of care and gather data as part of ongoing treatment.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, communicating results to the supervising PT, and educating patients, families, and caregivers. The role also supports staff development and participates in in-service programs, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Graduate of an PTA accredited physical therapist assistant program and eligible for licensure in the state in which the program is located.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments to patients/residents as determined through the therapy plan of care, established by the Physical Therapists, and State Practice Act.
• Gathers data for screens and reports the results to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Records data on patient/resident responses to treatments and communicates to the Physical Therapist overseeing the treatment plan.
• Documents up-to-date services provided to patients/residents, includes daily progress note, weekly summary, and therapy summary sheet.
• Instructs patient/resident, family, and/or caregivers in physical therapy recommendations to be continued upon patient/resident discharge as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Participates in scheduled in-service programs related to work topics as directed by the Director of Rehabilitation.
• Working with the Physical Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students as allowed by State Practice Act.
• Performs other duties as assigned and allowed by State Practice Acts and regulation.
