Job summary

Adelphi Medical Staffing seeks a qualified per diem American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to provide professional sign language interpretation at conferences and events throughout Tennessee.

The ideal candidate will deliver real-time ASL interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees, uphold accessibility and ADA requirements, and help participants engage fully in conference activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in ASL Interpreting or related field preferred.
• Professional ASL interpreter certification, such as RID.
• Documentation of interpreter credentials required.
• Experience interpreting at conferences, educational institutions, or large events preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time, in-person ASL interpretation for conference attendees.
• Interpret keynote presentations, sessions, panels, and audience interactions.
• Facilitate effective communication among attendees, presenters, organizers, and participants.
• Review conference agendas and materials before events.
• Coordinate with attendees to establish arrival times and meeting locations.
• Maintain accurate, professional interpretation and ADA accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with fellow interpreters and Lead ASL Interpreter for coverage.
• Follow schedules, breaks, and event procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Communicate scheduling needs or interpretation challenges promptly.
