Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses on a temporary, part-time basis each semester. Adjunct instructors create a learning environment that supports student goals, provide instruction and assessment within syllabus frameworks, and may be placed into pools for future needs.

The role emphasizes flexibility and ongoing availability to students. Qualified applicants may follow one of three education/work-experience routes outlined by the college and may be eligible

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor’s degree or higher from regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology, or directly related to the program.
• Specialized COR-required certifications for the class taught, per Curriculum of Record.
• Two years (route 1) or five years (route 2) or three years (route 3) of related work experience aligned to COR competencies.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes and facilitate student learning.
• Create syllabus appropriate to course(s) and follow department curricula.
• Maintain attendance and grading records per college policy and the Adjunct Handbook.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time and address student questions.

Education

Earned bachelor’s degree or higher in technology/engineering or related discipline

Specialized certifications per Curriculum of Record (COR)

2, 5 or 3 years directly related work experience linked to COR competencies
