Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses on a temporary, part-time basis. Positions are posted continuously to build a pool of qualified instructors for future openings.

Faculty will use Canvas and other tools, prepare course syllabi, track attendance and grades, and be available to students outside scheduled class times. A master’s degree in a human services field plus related credentials are required. Background checks are required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree in a human services field.
• Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program.
• Has one of the following: professional certification/licensure or two years post-master’s related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
• Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) taught and follow syllabus requirements.
• Maintain attendance and grading records according to policy.
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions.
• Notify department chair in case of emergency absence.

Education

Master's degree or higher in human services

Two years post-master’s related work experience

Professional certification or licensure in the field
