Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of orthodontic assisting experience.
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred where applicable.
• X-ray/radiology certification required where applicable by state law.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist chairside during procedures and maintain workflow.
• Bracket placement, wire changes, ligation, debanding, and adjustments.
• Place/remove appliances like brackets, archwires, elastics, expanders, retainers.
• Prepare operatory and ensure instruments and materials are ready.
• Escort patients, provide hygiene and appliance care instructions.
• Take and process diagnostic records, including x-rays and photos.
• Maintain patient records and assist with imaging workflows.
