Job summary

Mountain Community Online School is seeking teachers to deliver rigorous, online instruction for grades 4–8. While all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face-to-face attendance are required several times per year to support state testing and student events.

You will serve as the teacher of record, deliver live lessons, set up courses in the LMS, monitor progress, and communicate with families. The role requires NC licensure and strong classroom and collaborative skills.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferred two years’ experience teaching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information and stand for long periods.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
• Deliver live lessons via web conference based on student needs.
• Complete course setup in the Learning Management System.
• Monitor progress in asynchronous courses and grade daily.
• Maintain contact with each student and families.
• Collaborate with Principal to deliver Progress Reports.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
• Travel several times per year for in-person state testing and events.
• Plan non-instructional activities and attend field trips.
